Darlingia Ltd.

Darlingia Ltd, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, was created in June 2019 with the aim to establish and carry on Darlingia Forest School.

A “Public Company Limited by Guarantee” is considered not-for-profit because its profits can be used only to further the company’s objects that are set out in its Constitution — that is, the profits cannot be distributed to its members.

Board of Directors

Darlingia Forest School is governed by the not-for-profit company Darlingia Ltd which is owned by its members and overseen by a board of directors who are guided by our Board Charter and Constitution.

Michelle Lovelace
Bachelor of Arts, Dual Major in English and Sociology, Diploma of Community Services (Case Management – CHC52015), Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies
Michelle is currently employed as NDIS community support coordinator, is studying a Masters of Social Work, and was formerly employed as Childcare Educator, then Assistant Coordinator (2IC Managerial Position) at West End State School P&C Outside School Hours Care.

Director

Deborah Schiel Zaini
BA (Hons) Graphic Design, Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Art & Design)
Deborah is currently employed as the Teaching Principal of Darlingia and has professional experience in web designing and programming as well as primary teaching, arts network facilitating, and school I.T. support. Deborah is a local Innisfail resident with two primary school-aged children, and is founder of The Rainforest School (Est. 2019) and Darlingia Forest School (Est. 2021).

Secretary

Vicky Themine
After studying Law and working in Human Resources at the Sorbonne in France, Vicky migrated to Australia in 2012 and is now an Australian Citizen and a local Innisfail resident. Wanting a personalised education for her child, she was curious about alternative education like Montessori and Steiner and decided to try Darlingia Forest School. With her son’s experience at the school being so positive, she decided to give back to the school by joining the board. With her work experience in Business Administration in Australia, she is appointed as the director and secretary.

Policies and Procedures

School policies are reviewed annually by our board of directors to ensure relevant governance and compliance requirements of the school are being met.
